The San Sebastian cheesecake has been all the craze in Kuwait during the last few weeks. People are lining up and pre-ordering the cheesecake, days or even, weeks in a advance.

As such, many restaurant owners and home businesses started asking me what makes a food item go viral?

There is no golden formula that lists the steps to become viral, however, from my research and observations on what made some of the world food items go viral ( e.g. Cronut, Japanese Cotton Cheesecake, Birthday bagel); i noticed two common features:

.

1) Taste & Novelty: the San Sebastian cheesecake is an ethnic food, crust-less cake, and it is delicious.

2) Instagram-able: unfortunately, having a quality food alone doesn't gurantee success, the food item must be presentable and looks good on Instagram.
